Cytonn Asset Managers Limited (CAML), the regulated affiliate of Cytonn Group, has today launched a deposit of USDC directly into the fund through the Cytonn Wallet, providing a faster, more efficient, and cost-effective way to invest without the need for multiple currency conversions or traditional cross-border banking channels.
“Digital assets are reshaping how money moves globally. By enabling USDC deposits into the Cytonn Money Market Fund, we're making it easier for investors, particularly those in the diaspora, to access regulated investment products quickly, securely, and at lower cost”, said Douglas Mburu, Technology and Brand Manager at Cytonn Investments. "This launch is a natural extension of Cytonn's digital innovation strategy, making regulated investments as accessible as sending a message."
The feature is powered by a secure Stablecoin off-ramp integration, enabling seamless USDC deposits today while providing a scalable foundation for future digital asset capabilities. Every USDC deposit is subjected to real-time anti-money laundering (AML) monitoring, ensuring that all transactions meet the highest compliance and security standards.
The feature is available through the Cytonn Wallet, which can be accessed via the Cytonn App https://clients.cytonn.com/mobile and the Web client portal (https://client.cytonn.com/). The user experience was developed through direct customer research and usability testing with prospective diaspora and corporate investors to ensure a secure, intuitive, and seamless investment journey.
The launch comes at a time when global demand for faster, lower-cost cross-border payment solutions continues to grow. Diaspora remittances to Kenya reached a record USD 5.04 billion (approx. Kshs 650 billion) through formal channels in 2025, with the United States remaining the largest source country, accounting for 54%. Cross-border remittances into Kenya are often affected by lengthy settlement times, intermediary banking fees, and multiple foreign exchange conversions. By enabling direct USDC and USDT deposits into the Cytonn Money Market Fund, CAML is simplifying the investment process by allowing investors to move dollar-denominated value directly into a yield-generating investment product.
The launch marks another milestone in Cytonn Asset Managers' digital innovation transformation strategy, reinforcing its commitment to making investing simpler, faster, and more accessible for clients across Kenya and the global diaspora.
