The second session of Cytonn eHub Season 2 began against the backdrop of a successful first session where entrepreneurs were introduced to the concept of entrepreneurship. You can read more about the event here.

The focus of the day’s session was “Identifying Business Opportunities and Packaging Your Business Idea.” The speaker of the day, Mr. Kilundo Mbithi, Founder and CEO of Investor Clinics, guided the entrepreneurs through identifying, testing and seizing a business opportunity, in addition to packaging a business idea to attract funding and talent.

Narrating his entrepreneurial journey, Mr. Mbithi noted that his personal journey began with a series of failures and misfortune. He was, however, able to pick himself up each time by setting his sight on his main goal.

“Don’t do business for the money, go into business to solve a problem,” he reiterated. “Research on competitor prices when setting product price, but endeavor to provide more value than what your competitor is providing,” he added.

Mr. Mbithi also insisted on the role of the entrepreneur in driving the company’s agenda, comparing him to a music conductor. “The creator of the business acts as a music conductor, leading the team to sing high tunes, relative to high sales targets.” He also added that while networking, entrepreneurs should do so with the intention of creating awareness of their existence, and not to sell.

The forum was a great success, and the entrepreneurs present left the session upbeat about the fresh insights they could channel into their businesses to make them a success.

Cytonn eHub Season 2 continues on Saturday 9th September 2017, with Mr. Edwin Dande, Managing Partner and CEO for Cytonn Investments, taking participants through “Understanding and Developing the Business Strategy, Mission and Vision.”
