Cytonn Investments Management Plc held their Q3’2017 Pensions Trustees Training, at the Sarova Panafric on Thursday, 28th September 2017 with the objective of engaging participants on alternative investment opportunities for their schemes and what they need to do to maximize their return on investments made by their pension schemes.
Maurice Oduor, an Investments manager at Cytonn, introduced participants to the concept of investments as well as the essential aspects to consider in asset allocation. He challenged the trustees to consider alternative investment in the overall schemes asset allocation and investment policy formulation since alternative investment have achieved returns as a high as 25.0% over the last five years .
Shiv Arora, Cytonn’s financial controller and head of private equity, emphasized investing in the alternative space, i.e. Private Equity and Real Estate, while cautioning the participants on the need to evaluate the total return of the investment in the market, that is getting good yields from investments.
Participants also gained insights into the Residential Real Estate performance in the Kenyan market, a case study shared by our Research Analyst Patricia Wachira.
The event came to a close at 2 pm with our Managing Partner and CEO Edwin Dande reiterating the benefit of a Cytonnaire mind-set, stating that a Cytonnaire is not necessarily someone who has invested with Cytonn, but rather someone with a differentiated mind-set of thinking and acting differently.
