Cytonn Investments Management Limited has ventured into the Rwandan market bringing investment opportunities in the East African region to investors in the country.

The foray into the Rwandan market was marked by an investment forum hosted by the company at Kigali Serena Hotel bringing together more than 100 individual and institutional investors in the country. The forum explored investment opportunities in the region and areas of partnerships with Cytonn Investments Management Limited.

“At Cytonn Investments, we view the Eastern African region as one integrated market and therefore we aim to make our services available to all investors in each of the countries in the region. This forum in Rwanda has been a great knowledge-share platform even for us as we plan to roll out services that are unique to this market,” said Mr. Edwin H. Dande, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer.

Cytonn Investments has a rich track record of offering investors access to high yield investment grade products in real estate and private equity ventures. In order to develop these products for the Rwandan markets, Cytonn is looking for a local partner and has also committed to training a least 10 Rwandan nationals each year as part of its internships in investments analysis and management of real estate and private equity portfolios.

Speaking at the Forum, Kenya’s High Commissioner to Rwanda His Excellency John Mwangemi lauded the initiative pointing out that it will help faster integration of the East Africa Community countries’ economies.

“We in government, in East Africa, are committed to creating an enabling investment environment because we are fully aware that this will help accelerate regional integration. I would therefore like to congratulate Cytonn Investments for venturing into Rwanda, a country that features very highly in global indexes as a place with great ease of doing business”, said His Excellency John Mwangemi.

The company has also been connecting the East Africa Diaspora in the US and providing a platform for them to invest back at home. Cytonn Diaspora, an affiliate company, recently opened offices in Washington D.C. The launch was a culmination of month-long investment road shows in the U.S. where the Cytonn Diaspora teams held investment sessions with East Africans living in Atlanta, Dallas, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Boston.

Cytonn Investment Management Limited will also be hosting a similar forum in Kampala, Uganda next week.
