Cytonn Real Estate, our development affiliate, today held the groundbreaking ceremony for RiverRun Estates, a Ksh15 billion master-planned development to be undertaken on a 100-acre parcel located in Ruiru, Kiambu County approximately 7 Km from the Thika Superhighway and 1.5 km off Kiambu-Kamiti Road. The ceremony was officiated by Kiambu County Governor, H.E. Hon Ferdinand Waititu, and attended by our Chairman Prof. Daniel Mugendi among other guests.

The development which is within the precincts of both Tatu City and Migaa Golf Course has lots of green spaces, outdoor play areas and recreational facilities including swimming pools, a water park, and clubhouse facilities. The residential units are in clusters to enhance community living and security within the units. Phase I of the project will be constructed by China Jiangsu International, NCA-Registered Class 1 Building Works Company, who won the tender following a competitive bidding process. The phase is over 30% sold and early buyers have enjoyed up to 45% capital appreciation.

Speaking during the ceremony, Elizabeth Nkukuu, Head of Cytonn Real Estate expressed confidence in realizing the dream of this comprehensive development for investors, and the people who are keen to live and work within the fast developing Kiambu County. “We are happy to have come this far. Our journey started a year ago and up to now, we have already sold over 30 units even before the construction t commences. Mr. William Kinyanjui, RiverRun Estates board chairman commended the governor and all stakeholders present for gracing the occasion and promised them that Cytonn Real Estate would continue creating jobs and improving the living standards for the people of Kiambu County and Kenya. “On behalf of RiverRun Estates, we thank everyone for helping us make a landmark in this county of Kiambu and I am so glad to be part of this magnificent groundbreaking. We began by dreaming and we are finally bringing it to life, we will make sure we deliver the product we have envisioned, if not better.” William also explained that the development would create 2,200 jobs and deliver 1,150 homes that will boost the living quality of Kiambu in general.

Kiambu Governor, Ferdinand Waititu commended Cytonn for Investing in Kiambu County and promised collaboration in developing the county and improving the lives of the Kiambu residents. “I am happy with Cytonn’s work and we shall support you in any way.”

Other developments by Cytonn Real Estate include the Newtown in Athi River sitting on 1000 acres, The Alma and Taraji a mixed-use development in Ruaka, The Ridge in Ridgeways along the Nothern By-pass, Situ Village- a gated community in Karen, and Amara Ridge, also in Karen among other projects in the pipeline.
