Cytonn Real Estate, a leading developer in the region
with over Kshs. 77 billion in real estate projects under mandate, today held
the ground breaking for one of it’s mixed-use developments, Taraji
Heights, valued at Kshs 2.5 Billion that sits on a close to 3.0-acre piece of
land in Ruaka, Kiambu County.
Taraji Heights is a mixed-use development which
comprises 2 and 3 bedroomed and 3 bedroom with DSQ units. Residents shall enjoy
other facilities such as a retail facility, a clubhouse with a gym, a swimming
pool and a spa, as well as well landscaped gardens and playing fields.
Taraji Heights is Cytonn Real Estate’s second
development within Ruaka, as they respond to the growing demand for residential
units to house the ever growing middle-class seeking high quality and secure
neighbourhoods, supported by the high returns to investors as witnessed from
their pioneer Ruaka development, The Alma.
“Our deal pipeline serves the various segments of the
market ranging from the high end, such as the Amara Ridge whose construction is
nearing completion in Karen, to the middle to lower-middle income like Taraji
Heights, which will offer a comprehensive lifestyle and a secure community to
families,” said Cytonn’s Chief Investment Officer Elizabeth Nkukuu.
“In addition to creating secure gated communities,
these developments are also creating jobs, contributing to the growth of the
economy and raising the standards of living in the country. At its peak, the
development will have created over 300 jobs on a daily basis majority of which
shall come from the local community and we thank Governor William Kabogo for
supporting such projects,” added Elizabeth Nkukuu.
Speaking at the event Kiambu County Governor H.E
William Kabogo said, “I am glad to mention that Cytonn’s decision to bring yet
another development in Ruaka is well-grounded in many respects. This project
serves as a benchmark to other developers who are eyeing Kiambu County. The
landscape of Ruaka will have a new prime development in whose wake more
opportunities for development and decent housing will be created.”
“Kiambu is one of the fastest growing counties in the country
and with that comes the demand for housing. The rate of population growth in
the county stands at about 2.0% and the population is projected to be at
1,174,087 by the end of this year. With this kind of growth ability to create
employment for the people living here then is very important and that is why my
Government is happy to partner with developers like Cytonn who on top of
creating signature developments like Taraji heights and the Alma are creating
employment opportunities for our youth,” said Governor William Kabogo as he lauded Cytonn’s partnership in helping meet the
demand of quality homes for the growing population.
The main contractor for the project is Landmark
Holdings, a company associated with construction of many high end developments
in the country. Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony, Landmark
Holdings Chairman Manjit S. Sethi said that the company is committed to deliver
quality projects and ensure this is done well on time. “In a bid to deliver
this, over the years Landmark has invested in key assets from heavy civil
engineering equipment to precast plants, ready mix concrete and specialized
interior and exterior fabrication workshops spanning over 75,000 sq ft. Landmark,
as a NCA 1 registered contractor, has completed several iconic projects for a
multitude of clients in both the public and private sector institutional
investors,” he said.
Other developments under Cytonn’s mandate include the
upcoming Ruiru mixed use development on 100 acres, Newtown city in Athi River
sitting on 1000 acres, The Alma, a mixed-use development in Ruaka, The Ridge in
Ridgeways along the Nothern By-pass, Situ Village, a gated community in Karen,
Amara Ridge, also a gated community in Karen among other projects in the
pipeline.
