NAIROBI, KENYA, SEPTEMBER 8, 2016 – Cytonn Foundation has flagged off an experiential business mentorship program that will see 20 young budding entrepreneurs benefit from training to help them transform their business ideas to successful and profitable business enterprises. Dubbed the Cytonn eHub, the program is a 12-week mentorship program that seeks to enhance knowledge and capabilities on how to start, develop and run successful enterprises.

“This will be a one-of-a-kind mentorship that will take the entrepreneurs through a 360-degree view of what it takes to succeed in business. They will learn from leading business leaders from various industries and through practical application of tasks specifically assigned to them,” said Maryline Kiptoo, the Cytonn eHub Team Leader.

The 20 entrepreneurs from season 1 of the program were picked from a pool of 1000 plus applicants after a rigorous selection process. They are from diverse business sectors including: oil & gas, education, agribusiness, beauty industry, security, real estate and investments among others. The training will include comprehensive modules, which shall coach the entrepreneurs in: developing their business ideas & strategy; advising them on the legal requirements for their business; guiding them on how to access capital and prudent book-keeping. The training will also include product development, marketing, training in sales and utilizing the digital space.

“Our economy has made great strides, but to move to the next level, our young people will need to have a paradigm shift in thinking so as to move from being job seekers to being job creators. This is Cytonn Foundation’s motivation – to help create the next generation of entrepreneurs,” said Winfred N. Ndung’u, Brand Manager, Cytonn Investments.

The Cytonn Foundation is an initiative of Cytonn Investments, focused on giving back to the society through skill development. The foundation focuses on three main causes namely, entrepreneurship, training and mentorship (already being carried out through the Cytonn Young Leaders Programme) and Financial Literacy.
